Do doctors make the upper and lower lips the same size and what is best?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

The upper lips should be smaller than the lower lip always. In fact, the upper lip should be about 1/2 the size as the lower lips to maintain the correct balance within the face. The puckering that you create with lip augmentation should also be very specific. The upper lip puckering should be in the central 1/4 or about an iris width. The lower lip pucker should be about 3 iris widths. The height of the upper and lower lips should be about 1/2 and 1 iris widths respectively.

Lip Augmentation can be done with fat injections as well.

I refined an amazing volumizing procedure called “the YoungLift”.  This is an innovative technique that volumizes your face to bring out the younger and natural you without looking like you had something done.  This is not a facelift and requires no incisions.  Only pinpoint puncture sites are used and these heal imperceptibly.  The YoungLift can be done without general anesthesia and without drains, and large bandages.  You also have a lot less downtime and discomfort compared with traditional facelift procedures.  Dr Young employs the very best techniques from around the world into one volumizing procedure and he uses his internationally acclaimed understanding of facial beauty to create the youthful volume you once had. The YoungLift techniques can help with filling up the lips as well.  You can great results with fat injections in the lips.

After 3 laser facials still see fine lines around the mouth.

This patient had treatment somewhere else and I was just answering a question for this patient.

WithLaser Resurfacingit takes time for the collagen to repair and help decrease more wrinkles or so most people say. In my experience, the results that you get the first month is likely the most noticeable and after that the results are more subtle with the “naked eye”. When done on a more aggressive scale, you will notice more improvement more early on such as a month or two. 12 months is a little long in my opinion to notice much more difference. In terms of the lip lines, you might want to approach it more aggressively with the laser. Dermabrasion can also work wonders here.

In addition, you may want to consider plumping up your lips. A lot of the lip lines are created due to a loss of volume in the lips and the area around your mouth. Fat Transfer and fillers are great at creating this volume in the long and short term respectively.

Will massage make the fat go away?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

This was a question someone had regarding a Fat Transfer procedure they had done in the lips and whether massage would make the fat go away or lessen in the lips because she felt that there was too much put in the lips.

Massage is not likely to make a huge difference and at best it will make the swelling go down faster. Your upper lip should never be bigger let alone greater than 1/2 the size of your lower lip. My theory on aesthetics or facial beauty, Circles of Prominence, has discovered that your upper lip should be about 1/2 the size of your lower lip. Your swelling may go down quite a bit. Hopefully most of that will go away.

Give it some time and try not to worry too much about it. You can make the fat go away through microliposuction with the same cannulas that you put them in with. Sometimes you can also excise the extra fat out and different types of excisions can be done to make the lip look better and smaller. The swelling will likely go down quite a bit though.  It can be done though!

Maria Geronazzo and her enlarged Lips

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

This is another person I found through the web. Her name is Maria Geronazzo.  She had lip augmentation.  One of the sites mentioned that it went bad.  This is obvious when you see her.  Our minds automatically know that it is out of the range of beautiful.  Our minds are more complicated than we can understand.  We actually don’t know why this looks on the bad side, we just do.  The reason for this is that we don’t have a good understanding of really what makes some beautiful or not.  Leonardo da Vinci’s theory on aesthestics in the face is still the dominant theory and it has been shown to be incorrect through many scientific papers recently.  I discovered the Circles of Prominence to explain facial beauty.  Based on my theory, her upper lips are too close to the size of her lower lips.  They are ideally one iris width wide and a 1/2 iris width high in the central portion with it gradually tapering off to the sides. The lower lip should be 3 iris widths wide and  1 iris width in heigth.  Specifically, I’m talking about the highlights that the lip volume produces, the actual light that is reflected to the viewer.  We now know why a particular lip is too big for many different Hollywood Stars out there after they get their lips done.  You can check out my website for more information on the Circles of Prominence theory.
