Excess skin between the eyes

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

This is a question that I answered for someone who had a procedure by another physician.

This extra skin is a consequence of reductive type of surgeries. When you age, you lose volume and this contributes to the extra skin. Upper eyelifts /null take away skin and that usually leaves skin elsewhere. It won’t end. A better way to rejuvenate the upper eyelids is to volumize the whole area. This will require fat grafting and on occassion facial implants.

The extra skin between your eyebrows is a normal part of aging that can be accentuated with reductive type of procedures. This area may need to be filled in to plump up the deflated state. This will fill in some of the wrinkles and excess. There are doctors out there that can think outside of the box to give people a more younger and natural appearance.  null is my exciting technique to volumize the face and its techniques can be used to fill in the area between the eyebrows, the forehead, and the temple area.

How do you improve the lower eyelid dark circles and bags

The null can be something that can help in a less invasive way.  This technique entails volumizing the face with no incisions and is done through small puncture holes that heal essentially imperceptibly.  Volumizing is the best way to hide eye bags without the hollow surgical look.  The amazing part about the YoungLift is that you don’t need long incisions, general anesthesia (unless requested), and the recovery is often alot faster than traditional type of procedures.  Traditionally, these under eyelid bags were removed through incisions under the eyelashes which often gave people a hollow and unhealthy look.  The incisions were also more visible.  YoungLift avoids long incisions and uses small puncture holes that heal imperceptibly.  The YoungLift brings more volume to the under eyelid area to create more volumized cheeks to smooth the transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek region.

The YoungLift is performed by Dr Philip Young MD at his Bellevue Office near Seattle, Washington.

Volumizing the face through facial implants or fat transfer

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Some people are afraid of having implants and this an important thing to consider. I usually use implants to volumize the face when a person does not have a lot of fat to use, for example in women that are physically fit and have little body fat.

After implantation, you can then use the little fat that the person has to augment the implant. I usually do this in two phases with the implant first and then fat grafting at a later date. You also have to consider that fat and implants have different characteristics as well.

Implants require more incisions and usually are placed through the mouth. Fat transfer requires small holes instead of long incisions. Implants can also help in that fat transfering is needed less and cuts down on the need for more extensive fat harvesting.

Can botox plump up the lips or what is the best lip plumper?

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Fillers like Restylane and Juvederm are really for filling up your lips. Botox can give a little element of filling by relaxing the lip muscles to allow them to volumize through the relaxation. But this effect is subtle. If you really want to volumize your lips, go with a filler. One thing you should know is that botox can again relax the lip muscles, but a benefit includes decreasing the lip lines through the muscle relaxation.

Another way of augmenting or plumping up the lips is to fill them with fat through fat injections.  Once the fat survives it can last for years.  I have a unique way of volumizing areas of the face through what I call the YoungVitalizer.  I incorporate my theory on aesthetics to bring out the best results for my patients for the most natural appearance without the Hollywood look.

Consulting a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon would be something that I would recommend. We specialize in the face and are highly qualified to help you with this.

This extra skin is a consequence of reductive type of surgeries. When you age, you lose volume and this contributes to the extra skin. Upper eyelifts / blepharoplasties take away skin and that usually leaves skin elsewhere. It won’t end. A better way to rejuvenate the upper eyelids is to volumize the whole area. Fat injections are another fantastic way to fill in loss volume.  The YoungVitalizer is my technique of volumizing the face using a persons own tissues to volumize the face.  This amazing technique can be used between the brows as well.  I incorporate my internationally acclaimed theory on facial beauty with the YoungVitalizer to get the best and more natural results.
