Placing pressure in the lower eyelids after fat injections and the effect on survival?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

First of all, I want to tell you that I’m sorry that you felt mistreated. Sometimes, doctors are very busy and they might come across that way when really they have a lot on their mind. A good bedside manner really can make a difference though.

This was a question I answered for someone who had a Fat Transfer procedure to her lower eyelid and wondering about her doctor applying pressure to her lower eyelid.  This was a procedure that was done by another doctor.

In terms of the pressure, applying this judiciously can help some swelling that may be related to the manipulation caused by the procedure. Another word for this is inflammatory edema. It shouldn’t really affect the way the fat will be shaped unless a lot of pressure is applied in a forceful way that could affect the fat’s survival during the crucial period of about a month after your procedure.

The fat placed really should be formed by the technique of laying the fat into layers and by the amount placed. Each fat cell or group of cells should have their own specific location to acquire their own blood supply. This is the best way to ensure that the fat will survive.

Consulting a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon would be something that I would recommend. We specialize in the face and are highly qualified to help you with this.

Fat injections in the temple to elevate the eyebrows?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Fat Transfer are the most complicated procedure that a plastic surgeon can do in regards to rejuvenating the face. When fat is placed in the temple and lateral brow area, a modest amount of elevation of the brow can occur. The key is grafting the fat so that it survives to keep the volume and the lift that it has in the lateral brow area.

Oftentimes, a brow lift will be something that can’t be avoided. In studying the brow area, I have found that when fat grafting is concentrated in certain areas, a lateral brow lift can occur in a very beautiful way. The key to achieving this is very elusive. I have some unique insight into this that has not been previously been known. My plan is to publish this in a future article. In short, this can be done, but this area of plastic surgeon is a fresh frontier that I think is being elucidated as we speak!

fat grafting or restylane for under eye hollows?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Facial Fillers will last about 6-9 months but can improve this area. Fat injections can last 8-10 or more years. You are one the right track though. You need volume in this area and that’s the best way to improve this area. One thing to realize is that restylane will go away and can also be taken out earlier if you wish through enzyme injections. This can be reassuring.

Fat injections are more permanent and is a little harder to get rid of if you don’t like the volume but can be done through different special procedures. In my opinion, fat injections / transfer leads to the most natural results.

Deep set eyes and too much lid showing after blepharoplasty by another surgeon

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

The deep set eyes are a part of the aging process. You can do fat grafting to improve this. The larger eyelid showing after your blepharoplasty might improve over time.  As your eyelids rest and the swelling goes down the eyelids will show less. Fat grafting is comlicated so you want to go to someone that has a lot of experience with fat grafting around the eyes. My opinion is that volumizing is really important to bring back the youthful volume that people used to have when they were younger.

Fat grafting into the lower eyelid as a treatment option

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

In my opinion, fat transfer in the lower lid can do wonders. they have to be done right though.  If not done right you can get lumpiness and noticeable irregularities.  These issues can be addressed though and are not a significantly bad thing to have and take care of.

Fat grafting in the lower eyelid and cheek area is the best way to rejuvenate this area out of all options in my opinion.  The aged appearance in this area is mainly due to a loss of volume and replacing that volume can lead to the most natural and younger appearance.

Lower blepharoplasty with removal of skin and fat makes people look hollow and unnatural but I won’t argue that they still look a little better.  I just beleive that people can look a lot better by volumizing this area.

Blepharoplasty for puffiness under the eyes

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Bags under the eyelid can be from many things including protruding fat from under your eyes, the muscle surrounding your eye could be drooping over your smiling muscles, and it can most likely be a loss of volume under your eyes. As you and everyone ages, you lose volume from your whole face including where your cheeks are under your eyes.

Lower blepharoplasty involves removing fat from under your eyes, and also sometimes involves removal of skin. This procedure can make you look better but many times it doesn’t fully make you look younger and better. Volumizing your face can do a lot to make you look younger and better. This can be done with fat and other fillers. A midface lift can also help but, again, this may not make you look naturally younger and better.

I refined an amazing volumizing procedure called “the YoungLift”.  This is an innovative technique that volumizes your face to bring out the younger and natural you without looking like you had something done.  This is not a facelift and requires no incisions.  Only pinpoint puncture sites are used and these heal imperceptibly.  The YoungLift can be done without general anesthesia and without drains, and large bandages.  You also have a lot less downtime and discomfort compared with traditional facelift procedures.  Dr Young employs the very best techniques from around the world into one volumizing procedure and he uses his internationally acclaimed understanding of facial beauty to create the youthful volume you once had.

What is the success rate after lower eyelid pinch blepharoplasty

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Lower blepharoplasty involves removing fat from under your eyes, and also sometimes involves removal of skin. A skin pinch is a minimally invasive procedure that is used just to remove a small amount of skin. The benefit of doing so is that you avoid going through the other layers of tissue in your lower eyelid which can lead to the scarring that you are afraid of and the pulling of the lower eyelid downward.  One thing to realize is that many of these procedures remove tissue. Oftentimes adding tissue is what can make the difference. As you age, you lose volume in your face. Volumizing your face can do a lot to make you look younger and better. This can be done with fat and other fillers.

When do eyelid stitches come out after blepharoplasty

Friday, June 26th, 2009

It is thought that eyelid skin has the propensity to grow faster than other areas, which can lead to skin growing into the tract that the sutures take. This can lead to skin being embedded within the deeper layers of the skin and eventually cysts within the suture line.  Hence, many doctors prefer to remove sutures from the eyelid earlier than later after a null.

Some doctors prefer to remove the eyelid sutures 3-4 days later. Others prefer to wait longer and take them out 5-6 days after the procedure to prevent the incision from opening up. So, the balance is cyst formation on one end and opening of the incision on the other end. Other issues include that when the sutures are in longer there is more chance of scarring and creation of train track type of appearance.

Visible incision after blepharoplasty

Friday, June 26th, 2009
This is a questions I answered regarding a procedure done by another physician.

A transconjunctival incision is an incision that is made inside the lower eyelid that avoids an external incision. The best candidates for this are people that don’t need to remove skin and just need fat that is bulging taken out. If you are looking to remove extra skin as well, an external incision is unavoidable in a null.

The other option is filling up the area under the eye with a filler or fat injections. Fat injections last much longer than commercially prepared fillers. There is more involved but it is worth it. You can check out my website for some results. Filling the lower eyelid and cheek with fat can be the best way to make someone look younger in the lower eyelid and cheek areas.

Aging eyes at 27?

Friday, June 26th, 2009

I see the extra skin in your upper eyelids. I hope that is what you are talking about. This happens when you lose volume around your eyes which happens when you age. Underneath your brow, you slowly lose fat, connective tissue within your skin that causes the skin to sag downward because of the reduction of volume. During the seasons, depending on how much water you drink and what your nutritional intake is, you will have a different state of volume. This can account for the different appearances that you seem to be having when you look at yourself at different points in time.

Of course, you should have a complete medical evaluation to make sure that there is nothing else going on that could account this including issues with your kidney, liver, and even thyroid. Allergies can also play a factor. When everything else checks out fine, aging might be the sole cause. The answer to this includes filling back the volume or doing an null and/or Brow Lift. Although, you seem to have a fine position for your brows.

Filling your eyebrow and upper eyelids with volume is the most natural way to achieve more youthful looking eyes.  This can be done with small puncture holes that heal essentially imperceptibly.  The YoungLift is my unique and amazing technique to volumize the face using a person’s own tissues.  The YoungLift is done without incisions, without General Anesthesia, and the recovery is many times faster than traditional procedures. I incorporate my internationally acclaimed theory on aesthetics to bring out the younger and natural you.  This is ideal in a younger person to restore lost volume in this case.
