Facial Plastic Surgery and Continual Learning by Dr. Phil Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery

Sunday, August 19th, 2012

Facial Plastic Surgery and Continual Learning by Dr. Phil Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery:  It is obviously important to be dedicated to what you do. My hard working grandfather once told me that during your middle ages you don’t need 8 hours of sleep. He told me that he would routinely get 6 hours of sleep. He lived until he was 90. So If I can live to that age and only sleep 6 hours during my middle ages, that is what I’m going to do. I told myself that I shouldn’t sleep more than 6 hours as along as I have more to learn about Facial Plastic Surgery. Medicine is often called a practice because we are always learning.  So I get up around 5 am everyday even on the weekends to get stuff done. I constantly read about the things that I do to continually improve.  Let us know how we can help you in any way. Here is our Plastic Surgery Contact Page.

Evaluating your surgeon by Dr. Philip Young Bellevue Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery

Saturday, July 28th, 2012

Evaluating your surgeon by Bellevue Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery: It is really important that you like your surgeon. Intuition is a key component in many things we do and how you feel about your surgeon is very important as well. If you like him, chances are that he will like you as well. Out there in the surgery world, there is a thing that some surgeons say that you should operate on patients that you like as a general thing to follow. If you don’t like the patient, it might not be a good idea to operate on that person. This some rule should also apply to the patient. Some of the other things to look at are whether the doctor seems to be good in the social arena. If the doctor seems like he has a well rounded life, chances are that he will be well rounded in his care for you as well.  If your surgeon is not a very social person, it is likely that he won’t be social to you during his care for you as well.  Most people you meet put out an aura around them. Sometimes this aura is strong in good and bad ways.  Obviously, you definitely want to avoid the ones with the really bad aura. Sometimes this is so obvious. In my recent Summer Client Appreciation Event, I bring up the “Law of Giving” by Deepak Chopra. Out of all of his chapters, I think this one is the most beautiful.  These are clues to how to choose your surgeon.

At Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery, we are always trying to improve the way we do things. If there are ways we can improve, please let us know. Our mission is to provide unwavering quality care to improve people’s lives through facial plastic surgery and the YoungVitalizer. Please let us know if we are not following our mission statement. We will only see comments as constructive.

Minimally Invasive Facial Plastic Surgery – The YoungVitalizer

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

Minimally Invasive Facial Plastic Surgery – The YoungVitalizer by Dr. Philip Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery in Bellevue: We are starting a new blog category called Minimally Invasive Facial Plastic Surgery. With this subject we would like to talk about the YoungVitalizer the minimally invasive approach to facial rejuvenation. Most of the time when you think about minimally invasive appraoches you think that you might be getting something that is less effective. The purpose of this blog is to say that this is not always true. In fact, when we talk about the YoungVitalizer, is that we think this approach is an improvement to facial rejuvenation over face lifts, mid face lifts, cheek lifts, etc. We think the results you can get with the YoungVitalizer is much better than traditional approaches like face lifting etc. The downtime is much better in many ways, there are no incisions in the face that are needed with the YoungVitalizer, General Anesthesia is not required, discomfort is way less with the YoungVitalizer when compared to facelifts, etc. and other traditional procedures. How is that. Well it has to do with the way that we age. Aging is effected mainly through a volume loss. The YoungVitalizer replaces this loss and shapes your face in a natural way, the way that you aged. This is the reason why the results are better than traditional procedures.

Here is a video of Dr. Young explaining the YoungVitalizer on New Day Northwest:

Facial Beauty and how it is important to your life social, economically, physically

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

Facial Beauty and how it is important to your life social, economically, physically by Dr. Philip Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery: Facial beauty is so important. Most people, however, think it is some superficial trait. It can be seen that way. But, if you look beyond what is presented on the surface, it is probably the most important thing that will determine your fate in many aspects of your life. Facial beauty is really just order in the face. It is the order of important objects in the face. The order is very subtle and you can’t consciously pick it out. It is just something that your brain knows. The brain is able to interpret it faster and clearer than what you are able to concretely and objectively determine. This interpretation is very strong in your brain and your brain places a lot of importance on it. Anything out of order, will bring tension to the observer. This tension is something that people subconsciously do not like.  What happens in your everyday interactions is that your beauty can be the tipping factor for you in many situations.  This can be in the situation where you are applying for a job, getting promoted, getting elected to be president, etc.  The impact is obvious with sexual attraction and the benefits of beauty in this situation. But it is not so obvious sometimes in other areas of your life. So beauty is not superficial. In fact it is probably the most pervasive and deepest reaching trait we have.  You can learn more about Dr. Philip Young’s theory on facial beauty with this link.

The YoungVitalizer’s positive effects on your skin by Dr. Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

The YoungVitalizer’s positive effects on your skin by Dr. Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery: The YoungVitalizer can have very positive effects on your skin by Dr. Young of Aesthetic Facial Plastic SurgeryHow does volumizing help your skin. It took me longer to realize the benefits of volumizing for the skin. But over the years, after showing patients pictures of before and afters, people noticed the improvement of the skin sometimes more than other effects from volumizing. How does it do that. This blog is dedicated to explaining how it works.

1st: The general distention and volumizing of the skin and face, makes the skin more taught. The effect is to have the skin flatter in most areas.

2nd: The stem cells that are brought in with the volumizing heals your skin as well

3rd: The increased distance that the facial muscles are placed away from the skin allows the skin to heal. You have skin cells that are constantly remodeling your skin. This increased separation allows your skin to decrease the skin wrinkles in your skin, etc.

ethnic group smiling

The power of the Smile by our Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery Team: We thought that we would like to talk about the power of the smile. Our Team found this out: Did you know that people who smile more than 20 times a day are more likely to be successful and live a longer, healthier life. The smile releases endorphins that have been shown to have an effect on your health in a positive way. Endorphins have been shown to help your white blood cells work better which are known to fight off cancer, bacterial infections, viral infections, etc. Not only does smiling improve your health, mood and success, but it is contagious too! So, how often have you smiled today?

Aging and delaying the inevitable by Dr. Philip Young Bellevue Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Aging and delaying the inevitable by Dr. Philip Young Bellevue Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery: The skin is an amazing organ.  It protects us from microbes and the elements, helps regulate our body temperature, and permits the sensations of touch, heat, and cold.  Human skin is compromised of the epidermis, the dermis and the underlying adipose layer.  In the dermis, collagen fibers work to give strength and structure to the skin, while elastin fibers allow the skin to stretch and return to its original shape.  It is well established that sun exposure breaks down those fibers and is responsible for premature aging as well as skin cancer.  The most common signs of aging are:

  • Sagging and loss of elasticity
  • Enlargement of pores
  • Dryness and dehydration
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Telangiectasia

Sunscreen is, above all, the most important aspect of your skincare regimen.  We’ve all heard it so many times by our primary care physicians, dermatologist and plastic surgeons.  They’re not lying!  A broad-spectrum sunscreen must be applied every morning to prevent future damage.  Choose one that has zinc and titanium dioxide to ensure adequate UVA and UVB protection.  Topical antioxidants are also an amazing addition to your anti-aging skincare routine and will help everyone at any age.  In addition to a great preventative skincare routine, monthly microdermabrasion treatments or light chemical peels are great to assist in the penetration of active topicals.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding which products or treatments are best for you, feel free to call us anytime at 425-990-3223 or find us on our website www.drphilipyoung.com.
