Rhinoplasty Before and Afters by Dr. Philip Young

Our office is going on its 5 year of operations in Bellevue. Dr. Young was originally in Seattle for 3 years before that. We would like to present some more of our Rhinoplasty before and After pictures   for you to see. Dr. Young’s office and team have 2 basic elements that help them get the best results: 1. We have a better understanding of aging process; 2. We have a better blueprint | plan to achieve beauty within the face – ie Dr. Young’s Award Winning Theory on Facial Beauty Called the Circles of ProminenceOur theory plays an important part in our performance of our rhinoplasties as well. With this theory we are able to tell you how wide your nose should ideally be, how wide your nasal tip should be, how wide your nostrils should be, the ideal distance between your nose and mouth,  and how long your nose should be, etc. These answers are crucial for getting the best results.  We hope that our before and afters are able to exemplify this.

Nasolabial Folds Treatment by Dr Philip Young Seattle | Bellevue : Options and New Ways of Approaching this Area

Sunday, March 10th, 2013

Nasolabial Folds Treatment by Dr. Philip Young Seattle | Bellevue, Options and New Ways of Approaching this Area:  Treating the nasolabial folds seems like a very specific issue and separate from all the rest of the face. This approach has been used in the past. We did facelift to pull the fold up. Implants to the Nasolabial Fold: we used tissue to fill in the crease with fascia, alloderm, implants of silicone, goretex etc.  We have used Mid face lift to pull the cheek upwards to help this area. Fillers have been commonly used to approach this fold with a minimally invasive thought. Facial Implants have been used to fill in the space under the fold with some success. All of these approaches seem to work to some degree, with fillers have a more temporary duration and Solid Implants having more of a longer lasting effect. Perhaps the better way of looking into the nasolabial folds is to address them from a global perspective and approach them as being a part of the general advancement of aging of the face as a whole.

The nasolabial folds as an indication of the face aging as a whole: The aging of the face can be thought of as a general loss of volume sort of like how a grape changes into a raisin. The grape is much larger than a raisin and has a lot less folding than a raisin does. Filling in the nasolabial folds is like filling in a small area of depression or crevice in a raisin. The raisin may look good but may not look completely regenerated like a grape would look. It is our opinion and the opinion of the YoungVitalizer Team that to more appropriately address the nasolabial folds, you need to address the whole face, or at least the larger area around the nasolabial folds to get the best result. We feel to better address the nasolabial folds you need to shape the whole part of the face around the folds. This means that you should rejuvenate the cheek, the mouth, the nose and the general area around the nasolabial folds.  You can read more about the YoungVitalizer by clicking the logo of the YoungVitalizer below. Acne Scar Vitalizer Treatment Pictures by Dr. Philip Young of Bellevue: This is another patient we had who went through multiple procedures in the past with little improvement including: co2 laser, fraxel laser, dermabrasion, dermasanding, punch grafting, etc. This was after one treatment using the Acne Scar Vitalizer Treatment. You can read more about the Acne Scar Vitalizer Treatment on our web page. We also have a pinterest page on this as well: Dr. Young’s Pinterest Acne Scar Treatment Page. The acne scar vitalizer treatment is based on a multilayered approach to treating acne. We attack the acne scars from above and below and shock the scars to get results like the ones you see below. We recently had a doctor from singapore come down for this same treatment. Our goal is to use this new approach to change people’s lives. We like to do procedures that we feel good about and this procedure is really satisfying this goal. We look forward to talking to you about this exciting new approach to acne scarring:

Otoplasty | Ear Plastic Surgery – Avoiding the Revision Surgery by Seattle | Bellevue Dr. Philip Young

Thursday, January 17th, 2013

Otoplasty | Ear Plastic Surgery – Avoiding the Revision Surgery by Seattle | Bellevue Dr. Philip Young: One of the key things in otoplasty surgery is you really want to get the best results the first time and not have to do a Revision Otoplasty. I see patients from all over the united states and I discussed revision otoplasty in a book that is coming out soon. One thing that I see commonly from patients that come to me basically from all over the world is over reduction and over pinning. The hardest part to overcome, surprisingly, is the lack of skin or the skin defect. On my revision otoplasty page I discuss how to overcome this with skin flaps from the local area, skin grafts from other areas to help with this element. This is the hardest to overcome in my opinion. Then you have to worry about the cartilage defect.  Because ear cartilage is one of the areas that you can harvest cartilage, the lack of another source is a large issue.  This is when I consider medpor for this element. Also you can consider rib cartilage or septal | nose cartilage as a replacement graft. Below is a otoplasty revision where we used ear cartilage, med por, skin grafts, temporalis superficial fascial pedicled flap, and fascia to reconstruct the antihelix:

.Differences between an S Lift, Mini Face Lift, SMAS Lift, Quick Lift, Lunch Time Lift, Deep Plane Face Lift, Neck Lift, Vampire Lift Dr. Young Seattle | Bellevue:

Differences between an S Lift, Mini Face Lift, SMAS Lift, Quick Lift, Lunch Time Lift, Deep Plane Face Lift, Neck Lift, Vampire Lift Dr. Young Seattle | Bellevue:

We get a lot of questions regarding the differences bewteen these different lifts. Often times the names are confusing. But it is quite simple. All of the facelifts vary with these elements: 1. length of incision, 2. extent of dissection and skin elevation, 3. Whether the SMAS is elevated deep to it and lifted or lifted only. Once the neck is addressed with an incision under the chin it is considered a neck lift. You can find more about this discussion on our webpage here: Seattle | Bellevue: Learn More about Differences between an S Lift, Mini Face Lift, SMAS Lift, Quick Lift, Lunch Time Lift, Deep Plane Face Lift, Neck Lift, Vampire Lift:

Chin implant screw fixation or suture fixation Dr. Philip Young of Bellevue

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Chin implant screw fixation or suture fixation Dr. Philip Young of Bellevue: I would like I talk about the importance of screw fixation for chin implants. Screws help to keep the implant from moving. This is important to keep the augmentation stable and to more accurately predict what the final result will be. Without screw fixation your implant can move, and with that asymmetry and irregularities can happen. Also screws can keep you from getting more augmentation than you need. Fluid under the implant can create more augmentation and give you a larger chin than you want or a longer chin than you want. Screws can also keep infection from happening as well. Fluid under the implant can be nutrients to bacteria and can be a nidus for infection. Read more about chin implants on our chin implant web page.

Plastic Surgery Philanthropy by Dr. Philip Young of Seattle | Bellevue Recalls his time in Vietnam with the organization Face to Face

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

Plastic Surgery Philanthropy by Dr. Philip Young of Seattle | Bellevue Recalls his time in Vietnam with the organization Face to Face: This was one of the best trips of my life. It was one of the best moments of my life. The Doctors in Vietnam treated me and the other doctors like I’ve never experienced. They were so kind, gracious and appreciative of our contribution. They really made me feel good about myself. Once I got of the plane, I was greeted by the Vietnamese doctors that escorted us to our hotel. We started early the next morning discussing the cases that they organized for us to teach them as much as we could. We did procedures from cleft lip and palate and scar treatment surgeries to browlifts, facelifts, and reconstructive rhinoplasties. We were with some very famous surgeons including Frank Kamer, Bill Truswell, Mack Hodges, and William Silver. My friend and colleague Davis Nguyen was also there and we had a great time. Face to Face is one of my passions that I will try to continue to do over the course of my lifetime. You can see more of our philanthropy activities on this page: Plastic Surgery Philanthropy / Facial Plastic Surgery Humanitarian Work.
